Visual stories are a powerfully direct method of conveying information, ideas, and cultural wisdom.

I am very happy with the designs we are using under licence with YirraKurl. The licensing process was straightforward and clear.
We are using the designs in all of our marketing collateral. Staff and customers often comment on the vibrant colour palette and ask about the story behind the design elements. It’s clear our designs have meaning.
Our marketing team and board members intend to renew the current licences and engage YirraKurl for future projects in our pipeline.

Keeping alive the songlines her people have perfected over thousands of years, and exposing us to the ongoing nature of kinship, is integral to Deborah’s artistic vision.

Using her first-hand knowledge of the retail market, Debbie has been able to develop a broad range of products that have sold extremely well.
— Rebecca Machin | Product Development Manager | Artique Designs
Debbie’s work is always happy, lively, vibrant and colourful and has been a feature in our gallery/gift shop since its inception in 1998.
— Dale Tilbrook | Director | MAALI MIA
As a prolific artist Ms Coertse tirelessly promotes her community and culture through paintings, craft objects, jewelry, clothing, corporate logos and gift packages. Ms Coertse has gained national and international recognition for her unique style of artistic expression, which has led to her successful involvement in a number of community and corporate projects that require artistic input. She has also been a recipient of Australia Council’s Visual Arts Fellowship, a two-year fellowship which is granted to establish Australian artists.
— Lesley Fogarty-Radloff | Manager Aboriginal Education| Department of Education and Training
We commissioned Deborah Newenham-Coertse and Neta Knapp to design and install a Fremantle Markets Art Trail to mark this year’s 2015 NAIDOC Week celebrations. This 130-metre journey through the yard featuring traditional iconography, travel lines, campsites and wildlife wowed Traders and Visitors. We love this artwork and would look at doing something similar again next year.
— Natasha Atkinson | CEO | FREMANTLE MARKETS
